Walter Regis Austin, 81, passed away May 24, 2021. He was born in Brier Hill, PA and was a Redstone High School graduate in Brier Hill. He moved to Akron after high school and became a certified machine repairman, which he took great pride in. He retired from Chrysler and was a member of the UAW.
Preceded in death by his mother, Ruth and son-in-law, Stanley Aronson, he is survived by his loving companion of 29 years, Patricia Caldwell and her family; children, Kimberly Aronson and Jeffrey (Alicia) Austin; grandchildren, Kara, Kaley, Jeffrey II and Bryanna; sister, Nancy Frost; long-time best friend, Wilbur “Red” (Joan) Hayes; and many cousins.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of Crossroads Hospice.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at 1 p.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park, 132 Twin Hills Rd, Brier Hill, PA 15415 with Don George officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice.
