William C. Holly, 70, passed away August 21, 2019. He was born and raised in Asheville, NC to the late William Sr. and Ruth (Caldwell) Holly and was a proud Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Bill moved to Akron in 1986 and retired from Conway Trucking, where he earned the distinction of traveling over 3 million miles accident-free in a big rig. He was a former member of the VFW and loved his Harley’s, riding back home to North Carolina and participating in many poker runs. He was kind-hearted and loved his family, and he will be missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Paul, and canine traveling buddy, Candy. He is survived by his wife, Cathy; children, Billy (Dara), Renee (Steve) and Michael; grandchildren, Samantha, Madison, Raymond and Scotty (Addie); great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kerri and Raylynn; and many other loving relatives and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019 from 12 noon – 2 p.m. at the Eckard Baldwin Funeral Home and Chapel, 760 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44305. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. and will immediately be followed by full military honors at 2:30.
